Social Studies of Finance at the 4S Conference (Society for Social Studies of Science)
Some of the most innovative contributions to Social Studies of Finance are rooted in the academic field of Science and Technology Studies (S&TS). The presence of SSF in this growing research area has been promoted at the annual meeting of the Society for the Social Studies of Science also known as the “4S Conference”.
Several contributions that could be inscribed in a SSF stream were presented in recent editions of the 4S Conference. Some of them were gathered together in specific panels (co-organized by members of the SSFA):
2000 edition: “Worlds in Transition: Technoscience, Citizenship and Culture in the 21st Century”, meeting held in Vienna, Austria, September 27-30.
SSF panel: “Social Studies of Finance as a Subset of Social Studies of Science”. Convenor and Chair: Vincent-Antonin Lépinay. Discussant: Trevor Pinch.
